Was looking on your site for storage info and surprised to see this thread but … couldn’t agree more. I’m in downtown SF and have been incredibly disappointed to see the reactions and divisiness (sp?). The Chron published as a lead story a summary almost by block of how people voted. I feel very passionately about this issue, but understand there is another side and respect people who feel otherwise.

Sometimes flippant, sometimes idiotic (NOT often though), but always AWESOME! I want to hear more of your musings! I love reading your writing–I AM biased, but I think I’d still like it. Your being comfortable with who and what you are has REALLY helped me to adopt like thinking. Keep it up!

heh… but I’d say that’s part of your daughters charm as well as your own. You mentioned a quote one time from the movie “Strange Days”, where the villan says “Paranoia is just reality on a finer scale”. People like us think different, lot’s of things in our life are shiney. We’re ADHD commercials waiting to happen, but without the meds. Too much input bud. We’re bound to drop a few of those packets (or want to).

It’s one of the things I enjoy about you, and probably why we can end a conversation with “my butt itches, gotta go” and an abrupt hangup. And nobody thinks twice about it.

I was reading a book on memory. It said we receive approximately 10,000 inputs a seconds (sight, sound, touch) but our brain only processes 1-10% of that. We remember even less long term, unless it’s done repetitively or if wiring is different in some folk. That’s why keeping a blog is good IMO. It let’s us keep some of those shiney things a little while longer.

To clarify, by top-post I mean that someone takes an email and without any thought posts to the top of the message. This is most egregious when associated with long email threads and "me too" relplies. I prefer in-line replies. For a good treatment of the topic, please see RFC 1855 and wikipedia.
